BIG CHUNE is a popup restaurant project by Nathanael Cox, started in January 2022, following a series of public and private events in the two previous years. It is an exploration and celebration of Caribbean cuisine, particularly that of Jamaica, in the context of the cuisines of the greater African diaspora. More specifically, BIG CHUNE examines these various cuisines to identify similarities and nuances in cooking techniques, preparations, narratives, flavor profiles, and manipulation of ingredients as a means of relating them to one another.
